Dayton Simple Weddings
Wedding Service Policies
Last updated: August 23, 2026
These policies provide general information about simple, couples-only wedding services offered by Frank Wyatt. The specific date, time, location, ceremony details, payment arrangements, and any special terms will be confirmed directly with each couple.
Service offered
Dayton Simple Weddings provides simple, private wedding ceremonies for couples in Dayton, Ohio, and surrounding Miami Valley communities. The service focuses on the marriage ceremony itself and does not include wedding planning, photography, venue rental, catering, decorations, or other third-party services unless specifically agreed in writing.
Booking and availability
Submitting a website form, leaving a message, or asking about a date does not by itself reserve a ceremony. A booking is confirmed only after Frank and the couple have directly agreed on the date, time, location, service details, and payment arrangements. Availability is not guaranteed until confirmation is given.
Standard fee and sliding scale
The standard fee for a simple couples-only ceremony is $150. If paying the full fee would create a hardship, please contact Frank. Sliding-scale arrangements may be available and will be handled privately and respectfully. The agreed fee and payment method should be confirmed before the ceremony.
Voluntary contributions and community support
Wedding fees and any additional voluntary contributions help support Frank’s broader work, including offering the Grief Recovery Method® free of charge to individuals dealing with grief and making life coaching available on a sliding scale to people who may not otherwise be able to afford it.
Unless Frank provides written documentation stating otherwise, payments and voluntary contributions are not represented as tax-deductible charitable donations.
Marriage license and legal requirements
The couple is responsible for obtaining a valid marriage license from the appropriate probate court, reviewing the court’s instructions, providing accurate information, and presenting the license before the ceremony. A legal ceremony cannot be performed without the required valid license and identification. Frank will complete the officiant portion and handle it as required by applicable law, but the couple remains responsible for confirming that all personal and licensing information is correct.
Ceremony details
The couple should communicate any preferred wording, religious or nonreligious elements, vows, accessibility needs, or other reasonable requests before the ceremony. Requests made at the last moment may not always be possible. Dayton Simple Weddings does not guarantee access to a particular public or private location; the couple is responsible for any permission, reservation, admission, parking, or venue fee unless otherwise agreed.
Travel and additional expenses
The standard fee applies to the simple service described on the website within the normal Dayton-area service area. Any additional travel, parking, venue, admission, or special-request expense will be discussed and agreed upon before the booking is confirmed. No additional fee should be assumed unless it has been communicated to the couple.
Cancellations, rescheduling, and refunds
Please notify Frank as soon as possible if plans change. Frank will make a reasonable effort to reschedule, subject to availability. Because circumstances and expenses vary, any cancellation, rescheduling, deposit, or refund terms will be confirmed in writing when the ceremony is booked. Severe weather, emergencies, unsafe conditions, or circumstances outside anyone’s reasonable control may require a change of time, location, or date.
Late arrival and missed ceremonies
Please communicate promptly if either person will be late. A significant delay may require the ceremony to be shortened or rescheduled because of travel, location restrictions, or other commitments. Frank will make a reasonable effort to work with the couple whenever possible.
Unexpected officiant unavailability
If illness, emergency, or another circumstance outside Frank’s reasonable control makes him unable to perform a confirmed ceremony, he will notify the couple as soon as possible and make a reasonable effort to help locate another qualified officiant. Any ceremony fee paid for services not provided will be addressed promptly.
Safety and respectful conduct
Frank may decline, pause, relocate, or end a ceremony when there is threatening, abusive, illegal, discriminatory, or unsafe conduct, or when weather or site conditions create a reasonable safety concern. Everyone involved is expected to treat one another respectfully.
Privacy and photographs
Personal details will be handled according to the Privacy Policy. Names, photographs, testimonials, or ceremony details will not be posted publicly by Dayton Simple Weddings without permission.
Government and third-party processing
Dayton Simple Weddings is not responsible for delays, errors, closures, or decisions by probate courts, government offices, venues, payment services, or other third parties. Couples should contact the appropriate office directly with questions about license issuance, certified copies, name changes, or government records.
Changes and individual agreements
These general policies may be updated. A written agreement or written confirmation made directly with a couple will control if it differs from this webpage.
